Abby Cooper

Interview With Ectomachine

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

The Abby Cooper Company was named after Children’s names and the client wanted a very throwback and retro feel. The girl icon just made absolute sense before I even started sketching.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Started out with getting the type right first by itself, then started sketching, scanned, then off to illustrator with it.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Xanadu, very little of the original type remains though.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

Wanted to get a very ‘Bewitched’ type color for it. Not sure if bewitched comes to mind on this color scheme but that is what I was initially going for.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

1 week.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

The girls mouth and nose.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
