Interview With Jody Ward

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

Zephyr is the Greek Wind God.

We think design should be a real breath of fresh air!

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Illustrator CS3.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Started with a bottle or two of wine mixed with some friends…! Then with a clear head sketches then illustration in illustrator.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Helvetica.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

Black text to give impact and clarity mixed with the blue of the cloud as this is more of a ‘sky’ ‘cloud’ colour. We picked fluorescent blue to give it the 80’s feel.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

Designing a logo for yourself always takes 10 times longer than designing a logo for a client.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Trying to get the personality and meaning of our brand across in an icon.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

Nothing at the moment but we are still in the early stages – i’m sure it wont be long until there is something we can think of to improve it, any comments will be gladly received.
