Interview With Chris Perryman

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

The client wanted his established company to be re-branded. He was using a logo with a “WT”, but the style was severely outdated. He wanted a new color scheme and a clean, modern look. The font style was a simple change, the “windward” in his company name was the inspiration for the dots…to imply wind and movement.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

The whole process was done in Illustrator. The logo is pretty simple, and didn’t require a lot of planning.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Alba and Myriad.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

The client wanted a black, orange and gray color scheme implemented in his re-brand.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

One hour.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Getting the dots to space the way I wanted them to. I played around with them for a while.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

No. Although it’s not MY design style, I like it…more importantly, the client loved it.
