Interview With Marvelgd

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

The idea came from the meaning of “unitlted32”. As an online magazine/portfolio site that looks to give “titles” to “untitled” student designers, it was important to convey a sense of individuality, and importance, and design something that went along with our ideals.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

I used Adobe Illustrator CS4.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

I had an idea for this logo in my head since the early stages of the company. I did really quick sketches just to get what I had in my head out. Once I was looking at what I had in my head, I opened Illustrator, and created.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

The font I used was Univers LT STD 67 Bold Condensed.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

I choose colors that stressed individuality. Colors that are modern and aid in carrying the message of the brand. The main colors also blend well with the website.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

It didn’t take long to complete the logo. From getting the idea for it, to sketching it out, to the execution took, probably a week.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

My biggest challenge was creating a logo for a brand that didn’t previously exist. To create something that would already have so much meaning behind it, and that would help continue that meaning, rather then deter from it.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

No, can’t really think of anything I would change.
