Tre Macaroni

Interview With Ehsaan Mesghali

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

I always wanted to try out this style with a project and this client was frankly worthy of it since they trusted my style and my suggestions. I initially wanted to do something super cheesy, fast food looking logo but they said they wanted something more gourmet and refined looking. They loved it and get compliments regularly.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

It was done entirely in illustrator with various tests for the various details. the placement of the text, the small internal imagery, the fonts used for the center logotype that is the name of the brand. there were about 10-15 different versions before this one was chosen.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

The center font is big title noodling (appropriate) and the rest is century Gothic I believe.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

I initially showed the client all the designs in black and white only to expect to get into color later but they asked to simply stop and keep it in black and white. I couldn’t agree more.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

Including all the various back and forth, it was about a month long job.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Getting all the details right.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

Hmm. Not really. I’m actually quite proud of it. I have some thoughts now and then which version I like best from the general family of similar marks but I think this one stood out for a reason, it was the best one.
