Tom’s Petlounge

Interview With Thomas Bossee

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

If I remember it well, it was somewhere in the middle of the night. I couldn’t get to sleep so I started thinking of conceptual logo ideas. Don’t ask me how I eventually came up with the idea of combining a cat with a dog, because like I said, it was already pretty late.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Well, since I had the idea in the middle of the night, and I didn’t actually wanted to create the logo at that time, I only drew a terrible sketch of the idea I had at that time so I would remember it in the morning.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Some sort of comic font.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

I created this logo for fun, so I didn’t want it to look too serious. And to try something new, I made a matching pattern for the background to fit the logo.

Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

Euhm, beside the fact that I’m pretty embarrassed about it… no :)

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

I’m not sure how long it actually took me to create the logo from start to finish, but I’m guessing somewhere around 10 hours. Could be more, could be less.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

To make it look like a cushy lounge chair.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

No, I like it just the way it turned out. I think its pretty unique and original and that was my main goal before starting on this project.
