Toastea

Interview With Michael Spitz

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

Who doesn’t fancy a hot cup of tea and a nice slice of toast every now and again..? Just think, your toast and your tea…now in one tasty convenient package! ;)

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator CS4.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

In this case I wound up moving over to the computer fairly quickly. Starting out, I already had a pretty resolved image in my head, and was kind of anxious to mesh it out on screen.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Type is custom.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

The scheme is essentially a mixed batch of toast / tea colors. In this case, the content of the mark dictated the color.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

About a week.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Matching the typography to the mark… There was a good deal of back and forth before deciding on the final typographic styling. In the end I think it’s quite well matched, but I admit I juggled with it for a while…

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

All in all, I think I’m pretty pleased with it.
