Interview With Banskt
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The main idea was to keep the logo simple, caring yet credible and professional. The idea came suddenly, as I was sketching, when I realised that I could integrate a free flowing human figure in a medical cross.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS4.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I have an experience of 8 years in fine arts. It goes without saying that all my logo designs start with a pencil and a notebook. I never use an eraser. Sometimes ideas which I had neglected turns out to be a great concept.
I start with googling on therapeutic companies, and I wanted to know a lot more about the business; what exactly they do, who could be the competitors of my client, etc, etc, Then with a clear idea of what I want to have I pulled out my sketchbook. After the sketching, I produced them digitally on Adobe Illustrator CS4 but completely in black and white – no color. Then I showed the designs to my client and on a mutual discussion we selected the best concept and I proceeded to finetune the chosen concept. And here you see the final outcome.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
HelveticaNeue LT was used for “Thera Brands” and Gill Sans MT was used for the tagline.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The color of the logo is predominant blue tone. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith and truth. I wanted something to be soft and caring to balance the impersonal nature of institutional products.
Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?
Please ignore the other drawings on the page, as I was having coffee and doodling over there just a moment ago I drew this concept.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
It took about 5 working days to complete the logo.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
The biggest challenge in designing the logo was to keep it simple and at the same time reflect and balance the caring as well as impersonal nature of institutional products. I had to ensure that the softer side does not undermine credibility.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I have just finished the designing. I could be able to tell anything when I come back to this logo after sometime.
