The Transformation Company

Interview With Paul Lorence

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

The idea for The Trans4mation’s Company logo came through viewing some work by MC Escher. MC Escher is the master at changing view perspectives right before their eyes. This single idea is what we wanted to convey in The Trans4mation Company’s logo design as our slogan is “Changing Perspectives”.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

The logo for T4 was designed with Adobe Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

The process for coming up with this logo began the same way our process always begins with pencil to paper. Then once we have a good concept with flesh it out on the computer.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

The Trans4mation Company wanted a color the really pops on both black and white and landed on our signature orange color.

Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

The early stages of coming up with the T4 logo were exciting! Once perspective came into play with the 4 we knew we were really on to something.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

It took a few weeks for the Trans4mation to be complete.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

How to illustrate the word Transformation in a compelling and visually interesting way.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

I would not change a thing about the logo. Everyone at The Trans4mation Company is well pleased with it and we have received some really good feedback on it.
