Interview With Maverick Design
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Considering the client is in Sports Hospitality & Entertainment, I decided to incorporate the national symbol of sport in South Africa, The Protea. The Protea is the National Flower of South African.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS4.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I sketched out a few ideas onto paper and then about simplifying the shapes in order to get the origami look.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Champagne & Limousines – Title
Comfortaa – byline
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Gold & Green are the national colours for south africa. So Green Gold/Orange were natural selections.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
2-3 Days from the initial sketch.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Gettin the Protea to be instantly be recognised and identified whilst keeping it looking like a flower.
