Logo Details

Interview With Sandra Devaux
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
I wanted to use a symbol of beauty without being generic. I felt a seahorse would be a fantastic “mascot” for the brand – known for their beauty and gracefulness. They really are amazing creatures, so perfectly designed by nature, much like the human body.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
First numerous sketches, then I moved onto the computer, refining the design.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Rockwell and Quilline Script.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Magenta is a beautiful color and I felt it was appropriate for a luxury beauty company.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
About 3 to 4 days.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Getting the circles in the perfect positions. You would think they were random, but in fact I obsessed over them for hours! One awkward circle in an awkward location would throw everything off.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I would like a better font for the tagline. I’m not a huge fan of that Quilline Script, but it was the only one I had that came close to working. I’d like to know if there is something better out there.
