Interview With Joshua Geiger
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The client wanted a logo that didn’t look like your typical political logo. After working with a few other ideas, we decided that the “X” with the flagged corner worked best for their situation.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS5.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
- Research
- Brainstorm/Conceptualizing
- Mind Mapping
- Sketching
- Vectorization
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
I used three different styles for the fonts,… a modified Titillium and Myriad Pro.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Color scheme was dictated by meaning behind the logo and organization. Not much else would have worked.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
The project was 2 weeks from start to finish.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
I think it was the fact that the logo couldn’t appear too political. The client was great and I fully support their cause.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I don’t think so. My clients typically hire me because they know I won’t let anything out of my office that I don’t feel is the best possible solution.
