Interview With Bernd Allgeier
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
I am aware that this is not a logo in the classical sense. However I feel that it is highly appropriate to represent this company who offers high-class apartments for rent. I wanted the logo to be simple but very elegant and modern and this pure typographical solution is what I came up with.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS5.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I already had a bunch of other ideas, more in a traditional way. When I found out that the letters actually align quite perfectly to a nice shape I thought I could try this new way.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Eureka Mono.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The dark grey just looks very elegant. The yellow was already used by the client on the website.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
This went on for a few weeks so I don’t know how many hours it really were.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Making it look fresh and new and not too much like a hotel chain.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Not for the moment.
