Interview With John Mascarenhas
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Being an Illustrator by default my mind always wanders towards animals and cute devils…every now an then I keep trying domain ideas with animals…and SprintFox happened…
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
CorelDraw and Photoshop.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
This one was one of the rare ones that i do using pen n paper…so yeah the mark was conceptualized on paper…
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Used ITC Napoleon and modified it a tad to merge with the mark…used the eye of the fox in place of the dot of the i and x was completely made from scratch out of the tail element of the fox.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Needed a color that would reflect agility and speed of the brand – the only choice was a deep shade of red…
Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?
Been dying to do a simplistic mark as majority of my work is illustrative…decided to work on working with basic shapes (circle, rectangles and triangles) to create the fox…must have penned ten different styles and this one seemed just right…

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
4 hours.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
The treatment of this brand was way different than my usual style…so pretty much everything was challenging…i had to really crunch the message i wanted the mark to project…
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Absolutely nothing…
