Interview With Jake Bartholomew
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The client requested two things: a font with movement and a butterfly image referencing a pendent the client gave me to use as inspiration.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
The software I used to design this logo was Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I usually always start all my logos on the light table and this one was no exception. Pen, pencil, paper and a lot of tracing paper are used through out my design process. Once I have something I like on paper, I scan it and then begin to work with it on the computer.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The color scheme was associated with the clients business.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
The logo took a few days to complete.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
The biggest challenge was finding a way to include a butterfly. I did not want it to look like a last second addition. I believe by making the butterfly body a sewing needle and placing the text the way that I did I was able to make the butterfly make since and fit with the text nicely.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
At this point I would have to say no.
