Interview With Dusan Sevarika
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Well the idea is quite simple. Since my surname is Sevarika and the root of my surname is Seva, which in my native language means skylark or Latin “alauda arvensis” I decided to take that theme and create this logo. Basically my nickname is Seva and my whole family, my father, grandfather etc was also known under this nickname the decision about what to create was quite easy. Before a year I created logo on the same line but wasnt fully satisfied with it so I take another try and here is final product. I added much more dynamics and flow to the new design, making it modern, sharp and young. It is also look like a mix between human and bird. It represent me as a quality designer who walks on the ground but with mind and creativity free like a bird for which only sky is the limit. :)
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I designed it based on my previous logo. I played with it straight in CorelDraw and done a couple ideas, but I wasn’t satisfied with any of them. I had a break from it a week or so and then when I started to draw again it came out quite nice.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
No fonts yet, just a brandmark.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Well blue is color that I like most. I used some luxury mix between dark blue and green and made little effect to give the mark a bit of depth and elegant look with bluish silver gradient. I love it in one color, but for web etc I choose this version.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
Two weeks of thinking, couple hours of work.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
To keep same shape and look like in original design but make it more dynamic, cleaner, sharper and young.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
No way, I love it like it is now. :)
