Interview With Sam Clarke
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The inspiration for my logo was my background in print design. The logo represents the folded paper I had spent many years working with.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I began sketching concepts the old fashioned way, with a pencil and sketchbook. Once I was happy with the structure I brought it into Adobe Illustrator where it became the logo it is today.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
I am yet to decide on an accompanying font.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The colour scheme is primarily black and white. Lighter shades on a dark background work the best to represent the paper that the concept was influenced by.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
I had previously spent many months attempting to come up with a personal brand mark in my spare time. But when this concept came to me it didn’t take very long at all to put together.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Creating something that I was personally happy with.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I don’t think I’ll change the logo at all as I’m really happy with it. Creating some text to accompany it is the next big challenge.
