Interview With Jessica Watts
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Robinson is the surname of my client, she felt a close connection to the stories of Robinson Crusoe and Christopher Robin (Winnie the Pooh). I decided to make something that brought all these meanings together whilst also creating a design that fits its purpose. Thus, a cute bear hanging from an umbrella fit the brief and her personality perfectly.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS5.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I started using pencil and paper to create multiple sketches, I then scanned the sketch I wished to digitalise. Once in vector format, I was able to refine the design and choose the final colours and fonts.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
My client loves pink, so the colour scheme was not difficult. I did give her a few colour options but it wasn’t necessary, it was going to be pink :)
Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
I wanted to create a design that related to Robinson Crusoe and Winnie the Pooh, this was my biggest challenge because the stories are quite different. After looking through a few pictures I created the design which my client could also personally relate to.
