Interview With Greg Cuellar
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
This logo is for a local cycling team. They stressed to me that they did not like geometric designs, so I knew a southwest theme was out of the question. After a lot of thinking of how to turn an “R” into a roadrunner head, I realized I could make the whole roadrunner. To connect it to bide riding, I use tire tracks to create the final shape.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
Lots of mental visualization, and then a quick pencil sketch…which looked very close to the final product.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Century Gothic.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
I wanted clean and sporty. Nothing says that like black and light silver. It is also the color you will most often find of the tires and rims on a bike.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Pleasing the client.
