Interview With Bernd Allgeier

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

I played around with different type faces I thought were interesting for a logo of an architect and I discovered how nicely the “d” fills the space between “r” and “j” – the initials of my client.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator CS2

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Design process only involved my mac as I started to play around with different type faces.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Proletarian Beta

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

I chose a black background for stationery and business card and wanted a bright contrasting color that also appeared warm and positive.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

All in all about 5 hours, including searching for the initial logo idea.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Stepping away from stereotypical architect logos – without crossing “the line” …

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

No changes – I love it :-)
