Interview With Breno Bitencourt

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

My idea came from the logo of ‘recyclable’ and an attempt to stop this cycle of symbols with the same identity of the company. The features I added more dynamic because of the very process of dealing with material that is recycled, shredded, rustic. The colors are inspired by the idea of ‘ecology’ pastel shades of green with some yellowing.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Illustrator, FontLab (to make the modified typography) and PhotoShop.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

I started making simple sketches on paper, how the concept could solve. After arriving in an interesting way for the symbol, brought all the work for the illustrator and began to study how to resolve the form of a simple and concise.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Aller font, modified a little.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

The colors are inspired by the idea of ‘ecology’ pastel shades of green with some yellowing. Kuler Adobe helped me a lot in that decision. :P

Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

In reality this is not a sketch, but the grid of brand building, I find it interesting to show the development of it.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

A week. Days, nights, dinner, bath… full time!

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

The challenge, and please the client, that definitely was a tough customer. I felt it difficult to turn a symbol used in such a remarkable, the fact that the logo “recyclable material” is as widely, I flinched a little, slowed the resolution of the brand.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

Maybe the font adjustment, I like it, but something need repair, I don’t know… need critiques! :)

Oh! and i’m so sorry about my English, special greeting to Google translate! haha :)
