Photogravy

Interview With Jeiji

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

I’ve been thinking on this one for a looong time. It’s a Polaroid, but made of gravy! Isn’t that groovy? And the longer drip of gravy on the left makes it look like a subtle “P” for “Photogravy”. Yay.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Illustrator CS3.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Few sketches over a few months, then to vector.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Junegull.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

Gravy’s brown, so…

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

A few months of thinking.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Making the “P” subtle, but still readable, and keeping it simple but descriptive. Actually, probably customizing the font.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

I don’t know, actually. Might make the Polaroid’s edges a bit more thick, but…
