Interview With Mark Sims
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Through multiple conversations with the client and really understanding what they did. It was more than just ‘and aviation company’. They trade airplanes between companies, negotiate deals between airlines and source planes and parts for people. The wings of the symbol going in opposite directions represent the ‘trading’ between airlines provided by Oxus.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
As always, I’m straight into Illustrator. I can’t draw to save myself!
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Open Sans Bold/Light were used so the font could easily be carried onto the website.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The client made it clear from the start they wanted a deep blue as the primary colour of the logo. I chose to compliment it with a mid gray to represent clouds, so when combined with the blue the colours of the sky are formed.
