@Matthew - I cannot speak for Joe, but my first impression is that the plane indicates international travel and that’s how it ties together with nurses.
Hopefully Joe can chime in and let us know.

It doesn’t tie in with the nursing as my client is in the recruitment field and wanted to do different sections - i.e. waiters international…
The focus was to be on the travel as the logo will only be used in nursing publications enticing the nurses to seek overseas contracts and make it into a holiday, mainly to Australia. I had done another logo for them way back which you can see here: http://www.nurseatcall.com.au/
I only did the logo about 8 years back. This one is nursish but I don’t like it.
