Interview With Vanesa Merulla
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
After doing some research, I realized that I wanted the logo to be different from every other knitting logo out there—I didn’t want to have any yarn in it—then the needles came into place and with the initials I found the perfect place for them! I love knitting and it reminds me of my grandma, who taught me how to when I was seven years old.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS4.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I would say that 90% of the times, I go straight to the computer, this being one of those times!
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Futura!
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
As the knittings are going to be for boys, girls, people, homes, then I had to decide on a color scheme that would look great on everyone and everything! Then, light blue, pink, and the dark brown for the background made it pop!
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
3 days!
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Creating a pictographic look of the needles!
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Not really!
