Monkey Fruit

Interview With Kit Peverley

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

Strangely this was the first thought that entered my mind when I was given the project brief, thereby ignoring what I suspect is the most obvious direction of something related to bananas.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Normally I brainstorm and sketch some rough ideas up before using the computer but I had such a vivid idea for this design that I went straight on to AI.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Maiandra GD.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

I really wanted to use soft colour schemes because while the name of the company itself is rather playful the client also wanted something that could be taken seriously in the corporate world.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

From initial idea to final design around 3 days.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

The face of the monkey was difficult to get right becase I really wanted to illustrate the idea of the monkey as simply as possible, the addition of the nose, which came late on is for me the defining factor.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

The price? :)
