Interview With Jared Lunde
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
My own work and the movement of minimalism as a whole.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
I used Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I started with my brain. I tried to picture in my head what minima meant and how I could translate that into a logo. I got a good idea of what I wanted to do and spent a brief time drawing it on grid paper followed by Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
No fonts were used, though Chalet Paris 1960 was my major inspiration for the “a.”
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
I wanted it to be minimal, but not boring so I chose an almost black green. It is incredibly subtle, but it does the trick.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
I spent a few days balancing the line weights and perfecting the kerning.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Making a minimal logo interesting.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
No.
