Interview With Mauricio Alanis
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The main concern was that the logo should express the essence of the studio, which is focused in these points:
- Artistry
- Uniqueness
- Simplicity
This is why the artist’s handwritten signature came out to gather everything we needed to represent its essence.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Freestyle handwriting and fine tuning in Photoshop and Freehand.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
Absolutely yes. Most of the time my start point is paper and pencil. In this particluar case there was no other way. We needed the artistry look of handwriting.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Sun Typeface for the tagline.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
This was the easiest part of all. We needed simplicity, this black and white and all their shades (gray) was the clear selection.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
One week.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Being actually unique, yet world class.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
No changes whatsoever. Very happy with the final outcome.
