Logo Details

Interview With Sean Farrell
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The idea came to me when I brainstormed the word review. I was initially going to go with a graphic mark of a check mark of some sort. After drawing out a few concepts, it ended up not looking like I wanted and I then decided to make it in to a typographic mark. I then simply sliced off a little piece of the “v” and a check mark was born.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
My favorite software is adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Anytime your doing any custom work on a typeface, you have to use Illustrator so you can maintain it as a vector.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I started with a pen and paper and sketched out some concepts. I then went to the computer to digitize it.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Gotham.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The client chose the color scheme.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
2 Days.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Getting the kerning of all the letters to be equal.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Nothing.
