Interview With Ocana Design
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
During a brainstorm session for a client looking for an ‘edgy, yet playful’ logo, with a little bit of a dark side to it.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Straight up illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
Pen and paper originally, but only after experimenting a few ways to create the bubbles and thinking of how I wanted to construct the design did I build it from scratch in illustrator.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Neutraface Text.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Client suggested the red & black scheme, but of course adding shades.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
About 3 hours from sketch to illustration.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Making the bubble layers and making the bottle just the right length.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Knowing what I do now, I would probably eliminate any sharp corners throughout the design.
