Interview With Vladimir Sijerkovic
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Logo is for a small gift shop, selling stuff from Asia. “Istocna Cuda” means “Miracles from East” or “Eastern Miracles.”
I started from Hindu god Ganesh, but I didn’t like the fact he has one broke tooth so at the end it’s only a sitting elephant :)
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
CorelDraw.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I made several sketches and then vectorize one of them.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Trajan Pro.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Most of the products they sell are made from wood so…
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
Two days.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
To make something serious and playful at the same time. And not to make something that’s offensive to Hindu religion…
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Actually I was very happy with this one and I still am.
