Interview With Moegly Design
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The client wanted to incorporate an infinity or propeller into the logo. Originally they wanted a separate icon, but I decided to incorporate the infinity into the “8” in their name because those elements look so similar. This kept the design simple and they could still use the 8 on its own as their icon and there would still be branding recognition.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Illustrator and Photoshop.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I sketched out several ideas for placement of a separate icon, but then realized that it would save space and add a more interesting element to the word mark if the icon was incorporated into it.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The client wanted something that gave the idea of new and fresh, but also stood for health. I decided to go with green and blue to give that idea of new and fresh and stayed away from the cliche red colors for health.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
About a week, because of the process of sending drafts back and forth to the client.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
The biggest challenge was finding a logo that myself and the client both agreed upon. The drafts that they liked were not my first picks, and the version I liked wasn’t their first pick. We eventually came to an agreement however.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I would possibly do something else with the word mark to make it a bit more interesting, but I’m happy with it overall.
