Interview With James Mitchell

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

When I was coming up with the name I wanted to merge the idea of that the internet is Infinite and the fact that I love anything 80’s. It was a play on words that was born out of the infinity symbol.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

I used Adobe Photoshop to create this logo.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

I started with my good old sketch book out and about and then i would scan the images and develop them in photoshop. I must have drawn the infinity symbol a million times before i was satisfied.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Its a font called ‘inflammable age’. I have to credit Ray Larabie for it.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

I’ve been messing with millions of colour schemes, this one just seems right for now. I’ll probably change it soon but this colour scheme came from the T Shirt I was wearing, its red with a small white logo in the middle.

Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

This was one of the many pages I had scribbled on before I was happy. I started on a napkin but I have no idea where that went.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

I have been toying with the idea for a few months. Going between this and other work.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Not hating it myself. I’m so picky and a perfectionist, if it doesn’t look exactly how I want it it would be scrapped.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

I think at some point I will add more depth and possibly colour. I’ll see how the mood suits.
