Interview With Laith Ibrahim
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The “Hello Yoga!” logo was inspired by the famous lotus posture in yoga (also called Sukhasana). Instead of drawing a human being I created a brush and draw a person in that posture.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
90% or more of designers use Adobe Illustrator for logo design. I’m one of them. It’s the tool that I can’t live without.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I started with a few scribbles on paper and then directly to Illustrator. The plain brushes in Illustrator didn’t give the logo a good look so I created a new brush.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Ambrosia & CuprumFFU.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The client gave a list of few colors that he liked and I chose this combination of Maroon and Gray.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
It took 2 hours to finalize it.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Creating the right brush for this logo and the little time I had to design it.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I’m satisfied with it. Once I finish a project, I start concentrating on the challenges of the new one. Work time is too short for me.
