Good Measure

Good Measure

Interview With Jeiji

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

The client asked for a simple, creative mark that would represent his new streetwear brand he is releasing. He told me to get creative. He wanted to represent what his name was, so I got busy. The “G”‘s implied cross line is also an “M” made of ruler tick marks, representing the word, and concept of “measure”. I am super happy with this, as was he.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Illu-freakin’-strator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Did a BUUUNCHA’ sketches for a few hours until I could get proportions right, and finally moved on to computer after trying a few ideas.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Asenine.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

Just picked two colors that looked awesome: Yellow/Gold, my favorite color, and black.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

About 12-13 hours.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Getting the “G” smooth and proportionate, and keepin’ it all gooooood’n‘graaaaaaveh.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

No, I actually like it a lot. Yay.
