Logo Details

Interview With Bill Kenney
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
My design style tends to be clean so I was shooting for a simple typeface solution.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
For this project I went straight to the computer. There was not a lot of artistic elements that I needed to sketch out. I knew the concept I was going for and decided to jump right into the digital process. It was more of a typeface choice.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Neutraface.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Orange was a bold color that worked well with the typeface. The client originally wanted to work with a navy blue but
I felt that was a bit to corporate for him. As a young entrepreneur in a creative company I felt like it needed more life.
The client is also a red head so that was an added bonus :)
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
15 hrs.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Restraining myself. Although my natural tendencies are to design clean I sometimes fight myself in the process. We struggled with the idea of this just being a typeface. The client and I juggled
the idea of an icon to accompany the typeface but at the end of the day it was better when standing alone.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
No.
