Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The organization is strongly tied to the traditions of the Yucatan. The arrows were derived from a traditional Mayan pattern and organized to represent the earth on its tilted axis.

Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
It was originally a hand drawing, then vectorized with Adobe Illustrator.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Modified Kievit Medium.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The gold was chosen to represent the sun-bleached landscape of the Yucatan during the dry season, fine metals, and the sun’s warmth.
