Interview With Nikolas Espindola
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
This project was developed with designer Paulo André Macedo (PA – http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauloandremacedo/). We returned our eyes to the human body, seeking visual references in the forms of human beings, after observing the peculiarities of the auditory system, we found what we were looking! The idea came after a long research and, the form, after a lot of sketches.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I always start by the paper and pencil. Only after defining what I want, I go to the computer, just to finish and make fine adjustments. The freedom and flexibility that the paper provides greatly facilitate the creation.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Sylfaen (John Hudson, W. Ross Mills, Geraldine Wade, 1998, Microsoft Typography) and Scala Sans Pro (Martin Majoor, 2005, FontFont) for the stationery and tagline.
Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
