Interview With Saadullah Aleem
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Right from the start, I had the idea of a camera aperture with a butterfly’s wings so as to convey what the business was about.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS5.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I started out with pen and paper. I came up with the idea of showing butterfly’s wings in a way that would make them depict the initials of the photographer. But later when I switched to software, I added a camera aperture, which in my opinion seems to be a stronger concept.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Ubuntu.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
By taking a look at the colors of a butterfly.
Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?
Initially, I had in my mind that I would use the butterfly’s wings to depict the initials i.e EE. But the idea with the camera aperture seemed stronger.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
About a week.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Maybe the corners of some of the letters could have been rounded but I do not think that is a big deal.
