Interview With James Waldner
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The name has a double meaning and I used this to my advantage when I created an image of a boy standing and ‘digging’ the tree. The shovel gives reference to the actual meaning of digging.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Illustrator CS5.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I knew exactly what I wanted to work on from the beginning and sketched the design on paper to fine tune my idea.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Titulata-Fat.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Decided on an earthy color and felt a dark brown would work best.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
App. 3 days.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
I would have to say drawing all the leaves was a challenge and time consuming.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I love it! Wouldn’t change anything.
