Interview With Bruno Mendes
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The logo it was made for a tailoring, so I used the idea of a suit it, and also a scissor at the center, making the concept that after first we have the rough cloth, and then, after the scissor work on it, the suit shows up.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
CorelDraw.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I started with the pen, drawning, drawning and drawning, but I didn’t found what I was really looking for, so I started to play a little bit with some forms, until I came to this shape.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Optima, the most beautiful font in the world.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
I used compound colors, to make reference to a more sofisticated public, and also a mix of colors to make reference with the “man concept”, and the “woman concept”.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
Some weeks. It was made a long time ago, so I don’t really remeber how long it took.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Finding the final shape.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I don’t think so.
Maybe I’d play a little bit more with the color scheme, but I’m already satisfied.
