Interview With Brad Weaver

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

The organization, a global training group for missionaries, guides people into countries not often visited by Westerners. The idea of guiding and calming are big concepts for users of the groups services.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator, yes.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

en and paper, several thumbnails for the client, then onto final wire frames, and then color.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Arno Pro Display and Arno Pro Display Italic.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

Based on the existing colors of the organization and a calming palette with touches of expertise and authority.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

2 weeks

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Designing something different for a client that required the inclusion of a globe/earth in the design. It can be cliche, but I think this is pretty original. The client did not want anything “Web 2.0” but wanted it to be non-traditional.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

Possibly the green could be a little less yellow and I’m still not sold on Arno Pro, but you work with what you have!
