Interview With Daniel Berumen
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Brainstorming on how to brand myself.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator of course.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I was first debating on either using the full business name or just the initials. I though that using initials would make it simpler and memorable. The I proceeded to make quick sketches to see what placement was better. I also look at logo galleries for inspiration, and once I decided on the idea I though was best, I opened up illustrator and started working.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
I can’t recall. I did stater with a font from my library, but I ended up tweaking it so now I have no Idea what it was.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
I used blue because this color conveys seriousness, freshness, and professionalism. This are the main traits I want my business to have. Also to bring variation I also use orange as a complementary color.
Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
From brainstorming to the Illustrator file took about five days.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Branding your own business is more difficult than doing client work I believe.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Not yet. Hopefully it will stand the test of time.
