Interview With Chickenbrainken

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

We were looking for a logo that was representative of our company, of us, so we decide to look ourselves first.

We realized that the most representative of us was our hair, specially early in the mornings.

So we decided to made a logo of hair.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

It´s handcraft and after that, we retouched lights and colors with photoshop.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

First of all we talked about what to do, we wanted something creative, but above all something representative of us.

We started to write, draw and put ideas in a paper, and later we decided to do something “real”, something that you could touch, and you could feel the texture…

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

The background font is helvetica, we wanted something simple.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

…it´s our hair color :-)

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

Well almost two weeks. Between sketches, ideas, process and retouch.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Above all, we think that is a logo that really represent us.

And we are not sure, but we think that it´s the first logo made of hair (in the history!)…if there is any other logo made of hair we would be very happy to talks with the designers about how they do for styling it.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

We are very happy with our logo, and we are thinking to do some variations with different colors and hairstyles.
