Interview With Java Acosta
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Well the “badge” look was brought to the table by the client which i had no problem working with since i think fits quite well with the overall look of the Carlton Woods club identity and it gives the program more of a friendly appeal compared to the clubs high end identity, given that this logo is to represent a children’s program that was a trait that will work better for its purposes.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS3.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
This one was a straight to Illustrator project, i was given the Carlton Woods logo files and specifications of the project and started developing the logo elements to complement each other seamlessly.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The only request regarding color was that it shouldn’t be bright and colorful, since it had to portray the values of the Carlton Woods Club, so i used their brand colors and added a deeper accent to it.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
The whole project lasted around 2 weeks, this proposal in particular took me about a day and a half.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
To incorporate the club logo in a seamless way and coexist with the rest of the element.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
Nothing at all.
