Blue Pan Grille

Interview With Brice Shepherd

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

I threw around a lot of different ideas for this one; from typography based designs to designs with fish on fire in them as well as some literal interpretations of designs with blue pans before landing on this one.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

Started out sketching… a lot of sketching for this one. Then I moved to the computer and began to refine my ideas.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

Bellrose Light w/ 50pt tracking AND Bickham Script Pro Regular

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

The client wanted something modern and bright, but still classy. Plus he really wanted to incorporate blue into the design. We compromised with cyan.

Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

These are a few of the concepts that I came up with.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

A couple of weeks start to finish including revisions.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Choosing the right font.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

There is nothing that I would change about this logo… I like it a lot, but I wish the client would have chosen one of my other designs that I liked better.
