Interview With Chris Perryman

Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

This was a redesign of a pre-existing logo. The client still wanted a “saw” incorporated. So I went with that.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

I sketched a couple of ideas for the perspective of the wood/saw and then started laying in out in AI with the pen tool.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

FFF Tusj and Haikus Skript.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

Stayed with colors true to the industry.

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

3-4 hours.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Deciding how to incorporate the text with the image was a challenge. I wanted it to be centered, but it wasn’t flying.

Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?

No. The client is happy, so it’s all good ;)
