Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The idea behind comes as follows: BiggBasket is an online grocery retailer so the logo mark must represents/include ‘A Happy Smile of A Customer’. The customer is happy from their hassle free service and great quality of products to buy online. Also the logo mark should be simple yet very impressive and spread the message of client’s focused and professional approach towards their customers which finally resulting into happy and smiling customers. This leads to several sketches and the final outcome.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
I used the industry standard software for logo making : Adobe Illustrator CS6.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I started with preparing creative brief based on brand brief and project details. Once it was approved. I started making sketches on paper and presented to the client. After some back and forth conversations and meetings this concept was finalized to be digitize. I then started making it in Adobe Illustrator CS6. Then I purchased font and tried different variations, color schemes on that concept. Once finished I then presented it to the client with master applications i.e. putting it in business cards, T-Shirt, vehicle etc. After some small refinements it was approved as a final design.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
The font we used is Nexa Regular. The font is specially purchased from MyFonts. Several font styles were looked upon before considering the final one. This one is so chosen due to special curvy appearance of letters “g”
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
I tried various schemes by researching the trend of color in this industry. Various shades of green has been tried with various colors on the “smile” part. The logo must convey freshness, modern yet professional so keeping this thing in mind colors have been put on the logo.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
It took me around around 1 week to come up and finalize the pencil sketch of this concept. The whole designing process took around 15 days.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
The biggest challenge was to tell the story of the brand and also correctly convey the message to be delivered. It’s true that you can’t put all of the brand attributes into one logo but it must convey the main attributes on which the brand has been built.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
No, I don’t want to change anything.
