Interview With Amy White
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The client wanted a bold and whimsical icon/illustration portraying the style of her boutique.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
Several Illustrator comps leading to the final image, which was then slightly tweaked per the clients request.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
She wanted a black illustration.
Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
The hair & ear.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I would have preferred the thicker version of the head outline, however the client chose the thinner comp. I would also have liked the hands to match the treatment of the body endings, however the client wanted them more “normal.”
