Interview With RedBirdDesign
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
I was looking for a promotional item for a client and thought how clever a bottle opener in the shape of Oklahoma would look. But it had to say something on it. Being a craft beer enthusiast I came up with Beer Is OK because of the craft beer boom in Oklahoma.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
Started with pencil sketch but simply traced the state outline somewhat and put the notch in the handle.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
I wanted something reminiscent to Oklahoma so chose a reddish clay color for the dirt they are known for.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
Only around 10 minutes.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Getting it at the right angle.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I left it open to where I could include “.com” somewhere but overall I am happy with it.
